ImgBurn 2.5.8.0 is now available for download, bringing lots of improvements to all Windows users who have already installed the app.

The changelog is pretty huge and points to plenty of new options and improvements, such as dedicated settings to enable or disable the OS buffering when writing image file and to pick the transfer size used when reading and writing items to a disc.

In addition, the new IMGBurn version lets you set the “Platform ID” when building a bootable disc, while the Windows 7 taskbar button/progress display now turns red if an error is encountered while writing a new disc.

Support for the Opus audio compression format is also included, while the “Delete” button in the Disc Layout Editor has been renamed to “Remove.” The full changelog is available here.
