The first thing that comes to almost anyone's mind when hearing the word "Imation" is data storage, or, to be more precise, either floppy disks or those magnetic tapes used for carrying out various backup operations. Nevertheless, the company's area of expertise is much wider, as it has just announced the release of its Nano Flash Drive series of flash-based portable storage solutions, which deliver mid-range capacities in an extremely small and lightweight form factor.

According to the company's own statement, the Nano Flash Drive is pretty much the smallest such device ever created by Imation, measuring just around 1.75 inches in length and half an inch in width, while at the same time weighing less than an ounce. Furthermore, the 360-degree rotating, never-lose swivel cap protects the USB connector and data stored on the drive from loss.

Additionally, the Imation Nano Flash Drive also offers password protection and drive partitioning, which have become pretty much standard applications for all the flash drives released on the market over the past two years. The drive is available in 1GB, 2GB, 4GB and 8GB capacities and supports the ReadyBoost feature from Windows Vista, which means that users can employ it for enhancing their system behavior.

"USB flash drives continue to be a mainstay for business on the go, and the Imation Nano Flash Drive delivers the features mobile consumers need to stay productive", said Keith Schwartz, director, North America sales and marketing, Imation Corp, stating pretty much the obvious about this particular brand of devices. "Imation also makes its mark with the Nano Flash Drive's environmentally-friendly recyclable package."

The best part is that Imation's Nano Flash Drives are pretty affordable, as they can be found at Imation's various outlets ranging from $14.99 to $89.99, based on capacity, which is pretty much the normal price range for these portable storage solutions.

this piece is really better than 3 other brands which i have used earlier. it is cute, faster, small in size as per its name and affordable also. the best thing i liked is the built in password software. something neeedful. go, get it.
