A series of amazing pictures taken by an amateur photographer shows that art can really be expressed in many different and unexpected ways. The images present the world's most iconic brand names and cartoon characters in an unusual way – captured in water droplets.

Arik Kfir, a policeman from Beer-Sheva, Israel, has captured some stunning photos using a super speed camera, a glass of water and a medical IV bag. He started the project in 2011 and has continuously improved his photographic skills since then.

In order to obtain the perfect image, Kfir uses a specific photographic technique: he drops the water in front of pictures of brands or cartoon characters so that the droplets reflect the images a fraction of a second before the drop hits the surface and bursts.

It takes a lot of patience and dexterity to capture this kind of images, as the process is extremely difficult and complex, and the photographer often takes an entire day to capture just one perfect shot.

“It is quite a complex thing to do and very hard as water droplets are tiny, but it is my hobby and I enjoy it. I set up in my kitchen by putting a full glass of water in the middle of the table, I then set up the camera in front of it before placing flash guns around and above the water,” Kfir says explaining his technique.

He then places the picture that he wants refracted in the water droplet behind the water drop. Using an IV bag, he pours water from above into the glass previously placed below. Speed and perfect timing play an important role in this unique “liquid drop art,” as he calls it.

“It is complex and it does take a lot of practice, but in my opinion it is worth it as I think the images look brilliant and are something different for others to admire,” he added.

Kfir explains that Photoshop doesn't play any part whatsoever in his project and that all images are as authentic as they can be.

What's really impressive about this photos is the wide array of vivid colors that give the images a brilliant look. This type of art kind of inspires joy and happiness.

Even the artist confesses that “Photography has made me see the world differently, it has given me a new outlook on life.”

Among the cartoon favorites captured in Kfir's photography we can mention Bart Simpson, Popeye, Garfield and of course, the cat and mouse team Tom and Jerry.
