Long-awaited update now available

The image search technology owned by the Mountain View company Google is surely one of the most popular search engines on the Internet. However, numerous users were complaining that Image Search shows only up to 2 images from a certain website while the other photos published on the page are included into a separate link. Since yesterday, Image Search shows multiple photos from the same website so - no matter how many pictures your webpage may have - all of them will be indexed by Google's search technology.

InsideGoogle was the publication that discovered several photos from the same provider on the Google Index sustaining the SERP shows no less than 14 results with the same author from a total of 20 links.

"Before, Images would show two images from a site, then a link to show more from that site. This seriously decreased the value of Google Images, because in some cases a single site will have 100 relevant images, while the entire rest of the internet will have many irrelevant images. Now, if one site has three or more relevant images, Google will just show you the best ones, no matter where the come from," Nathan Weinberg from InsideGoogle said.

Google is currently testing a different strategy to introduce its updates as some of the recent improvements were quietly rolled out on the Internet. Take the example of Google Earth, the downloadable mapping tool that was recently improved and made available for all the users. However, the company's representative didn't announce the 4.1 beta version as an official improvement.

Moreover, a recent update to the search engine was also silently introduced in the battle. The possibility to search for websites recently indexed by the Googlebot was revealed by Matt Cutts, a Google engineer, but no official statement is available yet.
