Although they were once part of the same company, Ilford Photo and Ilford Imaging went on separate ways after Ilford Anitec declared bankruptcy back in 2004.

Following that announcement, the UK site was bought by Harman Technology Ltd in February 2005 and took the name of Ilford Photo, while Paradigm Global Partners LLP took over the Swiss part of the company in May 2010.

The two companies continued their usual production scheme and while Ilford Photo produces high-quality black and white photographic products, Ilford Imaging was focused on manufacturing consumables for inkjet printers as well as high-quality color photographic products.

In a recent press release, Ilford Photo officials announced that the company's products are not affected by lford Imaging insolvency and will continue to be manufactured and distributed as usual.

Managing Director at Harman Technology Limited Peter Elton said that “Any developments at ILFORD Imaging Switzerland GmbH will have no impact on HARMAN technology Limited and its products and services. We remain committed to providing traditional black and white ILFORD PHOTO products and our business continues to thrive.”

“Although I’m saddened to learn of the difficulties faced by ILFORD Imaging Switzerland GmbH, I can confirm that HARMAN technology Limited, based in the UK, is in no way commercially connected to this business.” he then added.

This statement comes in response of recent press reports that caused various concerns between customers regarding the financial position of Ilford Imaging Switzerland and how could it affect Ilford Photo products in the future.

The press release also assures Ilford Photo customers that their products are manufactured and distributed by Harman Technology in Great Britain and Ilford Imaging insolvency won't pose any problems to future products and services.

In addition to that, Peter Elton said that “I am however, pleased to report that HARMAN technology Limited continues to prosper and has exciting plans in place to enable us to achieve our ambitious growth targets in 2014.”
