Photokina is dubbed the world’s largest digital imaging event of the year. But did you know a couple of cameras that might not be pertaining to the category showed up at the event?
One of them was the Leica M-A which is a film camera, but there was another corky product hidden among all the Canons, Nikons and Sonys.
Überlicht reports Ilford teased its Herman Titan 120 pinhole camera prototype at the event. As you might have guessed it, the device is capable of shooting with 120mm medium film.
Ilford is a manufacturer of photographic materials known especially for its black-and-white film and paper chemicals and range of lifochrome and lifecolor color printing materials.
Anyway, the company also has a bunch of pinhole cameras available (plus two Single Use cameras) and one variation was displayed at Photokina this year.
The Herman Titan is reportedly quite sturdy and resistant, but for the time it is not known whether the camera will be mass-produced or not.
For the moment, the company is waiting to see how popular the prototype proves to be. In case the device arrives on the market, it will sell for around €300 / €381.
