Besides keeping your shopping lists stored in the cellphones or PMPs, there is one classier way to do it. In fact, Ikan is said to reinvent the grocery shopping experience.

Nowadays, a simple task like shopping lists have become a headache and a huge waste of time. Online shopping seems to be a more convenient alternative, but how about moving our fat asses to the supermarket. Well, personally, I wouldn't mind to do just that,
as long as I didn't have to queue, wasting at least two hours of my precious time.

Thank God the folks from Ikan - don't know too much about them - came up with an idea that is said to change the way we make our shopping lists.

What is Ikan? It is a simple counter top digital unit that features a user friendly interface and allows you to keep track of your groceries you'll need on your next trip to the supermarket. All you have to do is a simple scan of your products and they will be automatically added to the online shopping cart. So, when you're ready to order the groceries, you'll know exactly what you need, and most of all how much you're going to spend on it. The Ikan device comes in handy for the forgetful ones who will receive e-mails regarding their food supply.

If there is no product barcode available for scanning, the manufacturers added a voice recorder that lets you tack on the products you need. Nevertheless, the electronic device guarantees you a virtual trip to the store, from your comfortable seat. But, if you really want to go, then the Ikan can print the shopping lists for you.

This definitely makes the grocery shopping easier, but the biggest advantage of all it that you practically conserve your energy and protect the environment, because the Ikan can even tell you whether the item is recyclable and - whoa! - in which bin to put it.

But, again, like most of the online marketing alternatives we can use today, this can also make us fatter...but a lot happier!

We are just a few, but there are many of you, Softpedia users, out there. That's why we thought it would be a good idea to create an email address for you to help us a little in finding gadgets we missed. Interesting links are bound to be posted with recognition going mainly to those who submit. The address is .
