It’s a 21.5-inch monitor with an IPS quality panel

Iiyama has recently announced the ProLiteT2234MC Multi-touch monitor, on its official website.

The new 21.5” display has an IPS LCD panel that should offer an image quality well above the one offered by the cheaper TN based panels.

Iiyama’s new touchscreen has a native resolution of 1920 x1080 that makes it perfectly compatible with the popular FullHD standard.

An 8 milliseconds response time should prove sufficient even for the casual gamer, but the 1000:1 real contrast ratio, the 225 cd/m2 brightness and the 178/178 viewing angles are more characteristic to a low level TN based LCD.

The multi-touch matrix will most likely be a disadvantage when it comes to the viewing angles, but the low contrast ratio and modest brightness are a surprise when compared with other Iiyama IPS monitors.

The recommended price is 629 EUR. That’s around 828 USD for the American buyers, but we think it’s likely that the price on the US market will be below the 799 USD mark.
