One would believe that video games based on Hollywood movies are considered instant hits by publishers and they have no distribution-related problems. Apparently, this is wrong, since Legacy Interactive had a few problems regarding the publishing of their upcoming game, based on the animated feature Igor.

Fortunately for us, the company already managed to sign a distribution agreement for North America and they have just announced a partnership with Deep Silver for publishing the game in Europe and other areas (French overseas territories, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand). And I must admit that I'd be pretty happy to see Igor become one of the best movie-based games, as a lesson for the publishers that are only interested in recording huge profits without caring about the quality of a title.

Anyway, the game will be distributed just in time for the holiday season, for PC systems as well as Nintendo DS and Wii consoles. Igor tells the story of an evil scientist's hunchbacked assistant who wants to become an evil scientist himself and win the notorious first place award at the annual Evil Science Fair. However, Igor does not manage to create a monster for the competition - instead, he creates beautiful Eva, whom he wants to train to behave like a real monster. As you can imagine, lots of humorous situations will follow, as well as references to classic Hollywood monster movies.

The game will closely follow the storyline of the film. The PC and Wii versions will become a varied action-adventure game allowing players to control all the four main characters: Igor, Eva and their two friends, Brain and Scamper. The Nintendo DS version will allow players to design their monster individually by adding new body parts, and compete against other scientists' creatures.
