Iggy Pop is one of the legends who refuse to disappear from the musical scenery. Even though a new artist pops up almost every few days, old ones have their target. They are experienced, they have the advantage of a "shaped audience" and the prestige of old days. And even if inspiration is not as present as it used to be, the modern ways of making music solve the problem. So, they are all remastering, remixing and reinterpreting their oldies but goldies songs.
The punk - rock icon Iggy Pop is just bringing to life a project he's been long dreaming of. That is, a reunion disc with his old band The Stooges.
This way, his first act since 1973 will be released next year via Virginia. The material will be produced by Steve Albini with Jack White's help for some tracks.
Actually, the disc will be a double-reunion. First, Iggy Pop meets again his old friends, and then the old friends themselves gather back as The Stooges. Since 2003, they keep trying to do this, singing (more or less together) at festivals. This year they'll perform in December at the UK's "Nightmare Before Christmas" festival.

Iggy Pop says that nothing has essentially changed in the 30-year time of absence in the world of musical production. Same problems, same passions, and same roles - he keeps being the one to show off on stages and in the media, The Stooges keep singing with him, and that would be it!
As for the musical style, the experiment is the key word. So, they are all engaged in a quest of finding the old, hopefully-not-gone vibes, searching for the incentive they had back then in the 70s. As a matter of fact, Iggy Pop openly admits he has run out of ideas. Is a good think that the past can always be a source of inspiration!
