Danish singer MØ cites technical issues for her problems

Being the musical guest / performer on Saturday Night Live is a huge deal, although it’s not as big a deal as hosting the show. Still, any artist looking to promote new material who lands the gig must be thrilled because they’re suddenly provided with a wide platform to make their music known.

So, they must strive to pull off a flawless performance, which, unfortunately, didn’t happen with last week’s number from Iggy Azalea. The Australian rapper debuted her duet with Danish singer MØ, “Beg for It,” on the show, but it didn’t really go off without a glitch.

You can see the entire performance in the video embedded below.

To Iggy’s credit, it wasn’t her fault that it didn’t go as well as planned. MØ seemed to be experiencing some issues that prevented her from keeping up with the track. It was as if she had a delay between what she was signing and everything else happening on stage.

MØ took to her Instagram to explain what happened, saying she had certain “technical issues” that made it hard for her to hear the track, and because of this, she was always one step behind. She apologized to the fans and Iggy and everyone else involved in the performance and stressed that she wasn’t perfect – and had never claimed to be so.

In all fairness, even though certain publications are trying to make this into some huge TV blunder (which it wasn’t, despite the obvious technical problems), I think it’s safe to say we’ve seen far bigger disasters as music performances go, including on SNL. The name Lana Del Rey comes to mind first.
