14 DAY TRIAL // Rapper Iggy Azalea and LA Lakers player Nick Young have been dating for 21 months and they long made their feelings towards each other known in public, exchanging “I love yous” on social media on a regular basis. On his 30th birthday, Iggy got the best present ever when he got down on one knee and proposed.
She said yes, obviously.
A surprise proposal
You can see a video of the happy moment in the People magazine footage embedded below. The setting was an intimate birthday party for Nick, who, in turn, surprised his girlfriend by presenting her with a massive, yellow diamond ring and a marriage proposal.
As she made it clear shortly afterwards on social media, she said yes. Iggy might not be as active as she once was on Twitter, but she’s still keeping in touch with her fans via Instagram, which is where she posted several photos of her giant new bling.

Details on the gorgeous ring aren’t available as of now, but it looks pretty expensive. It also bears a certain resemblance to the engagement ring Nicki Minaj got from Meek Mill in April, with the exception that that yellow diamond was heart-shaped, and this one isn’t.
Nicki’s ring was estimated to have cost $500,000 (€447,547), just to give you an idea of how much money Nick Young must have spent on Iggy’s.
It all started with a tweet
In September 2013, Nick Young mentioned Iggy Azalea on Twitter as his #womancrushwednesday, and this was what started their relationship. She didn’t tweet back at him but they did have common friends who found his gesture quite adorable - and who did their best to see them hook up.
They went on their first date soon after this, and it included a trip to Target, Iggy’s favorite store, before a fancy dinner. On their 1-year anniversary, they hit up Target once more and made sure their fans knew about it, through posts on social media.
Since the start of their romance, Nick has always been there for Iggy on the red carpet, supporting her at award shows and rooting for her to win. Most recently, they did the Billboard Music Awards 2015 together.
