In rap music, feuds have been started for less, but they probably never got as much attention as this one, which seems to be brewing between Australian female rapper Iggy Azalea and American rapper Snoop Dogg.

Iggy is said to be fuming mad at Snoop after he posted a meme that’s been making the rounds for some time, mocking her for how she looks without makeup.

She’s not letting it slide though, and has taken to her Twitter to give him a piece of her mind, while also admonishing him for being so “mean” to her in public and then acting like her friend when the media isn’t watching.

Snoop is mean “for no reason”

This whole thing started with Snoop posting the meme that you can also find embedded below, which he probably thought was the funniest thing ever.

Just a couple of days before, Iggy had been photographed at the airport sans fards, with paparazzi photos snapped on the occasion getting a lot of attention because she looked so different than she did on the red carpet, when she had her makeup done by professionals.

Yes, for some reason, we still expect celebrities to look the same in their everyday life as they do on the red carpet, even though several huge stars have gone to great lengths to get fans to understand that the version they see at such events is the most “polished” one.

Perhaps worse for Iggy, the meme Snoop chose is actually a picture of a man, which would imply that she’s a transgender woman.

“@SnoopDogg why would you post such a mean pic on insta when you send your body guards to ask me for pictures every time we are at shows together?” Iggy shot back on Twitter.

“my bodyguard stopped the fire truck that saved your friends life in canada when he almost burnt down the hotel. and every time I've ever spoken to you you've always been nice as hell, I'm disappointed you'd be such an [expletive] for no reason,” she continued.

Iggy is trying to downplay the “feud”

These tweets are no longer available on her Twitter feed, but the most recent one seems to indicate that she’s trying to downplay the feud, either because she doesn’t want the drama or because she knows it would be pointless if she and Snoop got into it seriously.

She claims that she’s not fuming mad as reports would have us believe, and that she’s sick of how the media is always exaggerating the bad things that happen in her life – but never the good ones.

Truth be told, Iggy has been going through a rough patch in what concerns her relationship with the media: just the other day, a video emerged showing her wishing death by Ebola onto a paparazzo. She explains on the social networking site that he had been following her for many hours, trying to provoke her into reacting negatively, so he’d have something “juicy” to turn over to his boss.

She says she expected to lose a good chunk of her privacy with fame, but never imagined she’d have none left anymore. And the paparazzi situation is getting out of hand, she believes.

For his part, Snoop seems amused by reports of his and Iggy’s “feud,” retweeting a couple of headlines to that effect. He also writes, “I wish a [B-word] would” in response to a fan’s message on the topic of the feud. Make of that what you will.
