Seinfeld fans probably relate to George Constanza a lot, sometimes. Especially those who like books read to them (preferably with a voice that doesn’t sound like their own). And that’s what Voice Reader Text to Speech is for.

Updated to version 2.5.0 recently, Linguatec’s voice reader adds a convenient “search-” and “go-to-” function which you can use to search for letters, words or even full sentences. You can also switch to the desired percentage with one click.

No Internet connection is required for reading out and creating the audio files, and there are no character restrictions in this app.

Best of all, it’s currently on sale for just a dollar (or €0.79) in the Apple App Store. Spells bargain for whoever needs to take a religion conversion test real soon.

Voice Reader Text to Speech is compatible with iPhone, iPod touch, and iPad and requires iOS 4.3 or later. The app is optimized for the new iPhone 5 as well.
