Let's make this as short as possible: Anna Nicole Smith, one of the most beloved tabloid characters of our times (for reasons known only to few but probably guessed by many) is dead. The long trial over her burial place is over, the paternity case for her infant daughter, Dannielynn Hope, is closed so you would think that the world at large would deserve some time off the whole madness that was the Anna Nicole Smith saga.
After all, all those concerned got their fair share of attention and money (meaning, Howard K. Stern, Larry Birkhead and Virgie Arthur, Anna Nicole's mother) and, even if some took the way home feeling disappointed, none of them left empty-handed. It was a win-win situation for all the parties involved. Except for Anna Nicole.
By the look of things, there is yet another person to come and bask in the spotlight: the model's long estranged half sister, Donna Hogan. Ever since Anna Nicole announced that she was pregnant, Mrs. Hogan began making what could only be termed veiled threats, going public with her decision of writing a tell-all book about Smith's life. The decision became reality in the eve of Dannielynn's paternity case, when Hogan stated out loud that she had concrete proof that the 'Playboy' pinup girl had frozen the sperm of Howard J. Marshall, her former billionaire hubby.
Donna Hogan says, in an interview with Dr. Phil, that she is not doing this (writing defamatory books about her sis like her 'Train Wreck: The Life and Death of Anna Nicole Smith' and giving interviews in which she practically paints a very nasty image of her) for the money or for the media coverage that she's getting. This woman (who, by the way, saw Anna Nicole only once in the past 12 years and even then at a calendar signing, when she had to wait in line with the rest of the autograph hounds) claims that her book is some sort of cathartic-like cleansing act. So don't call her a media whore before you get all the facts straight.
'[I wrote the book] Because I was hurt. Because it's closure for me. Because now she's gone, and things about her upsetted me. She was selfish. I always respected her, and she always disrespected me. I was struggling. I had to live in a shelter to protect my three kids and I never asked her for nothing. She had four houses and never offered me one to stay in. I bought her a Marilyn Monroe doll and she never bought me a thing. She'd take people who worked for her on shopping sprees to Rodeo Drive and never bring my kids anything. She never once offered me money. Except to try and take my little girl from me. See, even after she had Danny she wanted a girl child desperately. She offered me thousands, but only if I'd give up my baby daughter to her which, of course, I wouldn't.', Donna Hogan said in the already mentioned interview with Dr. Phil.
So, basically the whole thing IS about money. Oh, yes, and about revealing to the world that her sister was a wacko: 'Look, I was offered lots of the same kind of stuff she was, but I just couldn't do it. I think she had some kind of illness. She did it with all sorts of girlfriends and gay boyfriends. I mean, she gave our father - who molested girls and actually touched me - naked photos of herself.'
One can't know exactly what went down in Anna Nicole Smith's family or how deep their feuds were. But what one does know for sure is that it's bad omen to speak bad things about the dead. Even when you're doing it for the money or for the attention. Also, some things are better left in the family closet, along with the rest of the skeletons. These being said, if your morbid curiosity gets the best of you, 'Train Wreck' should be released in no time, most likely next month.
