Based on 'Bill Gates forbids his family from owning Apples'

Check this! “Microsoft founder head Bill Gates has banned the use of products made by Arch-rival Apple from his house, his wife has revealed,” reads a report. We needn't go any deeper into the story to discover the reasons for this kind of attitude. While we haven't yet heard Apple's CEO, Steve Jobs, banning any of his loved ones from using Windows (perhaps they're only allowed to do so in Boot Camp), let's picture a similar scenario, but with different characters and different businesses.

OK, let's say your dad runs a family business that revolves around apple pies. Your family sells apple pies, OK? OK. Now, you also have this neighbor (a friend of yours) whose dad also has a thriving business. The neighbor's business is to make safe, quality windows for houses. In fact, he's the only window maker on a 300 mile radius. Everyone needs windows, and everyone likes apple pies, right? So, here's what happens:

· Your dad has just finished making a batch of those delicious apple pies and is now airing the house. · Your friend is becoming ever more frustrated to the smell of those delicious apple pies coming from your kitchen, knowing he can't have any because good ol' dad says so. · Later that day, a ball hits your room's window, crashing it. · You're forced to sleep for a week in a freezing room because now your dad is too proud to have any of the neighbor's windows mounted to his house. · Meanwhile, your friend is on the verge of developing a mental disorder and an obsession for apple pies. · You eventually get a cold, which turns into pneumonia. · You die, later that week, just as the new window arrives from a factory. · As your father attends your funeral, your friend breaks and enters your house grabbing every piece of apple pie he can get his hands on. · Not surprisingly, the disturbed individual starts eating in such a gruesome, animalistic manner that he eventually chokes and dies of suffocation.

The end.

So, what have we learned today? You can provide your answer in the comments, but just to make sure everyone learns what they ought to from this highly improbable scenario, being forbidden to own an item you might not even want to begin with will only make you long for that certain item. Bill Gates' wife already admitted she “wouldn't mind having that iPhone.” Next thing you know, Mrs. Gates will order a custom-made Zune-shaped sleeve for the iPhone she might've already bought for herself.
