As if there weren't enough celebrities in this world willing to kill any living animal to wear their fur or their skins, P. Diddy joins the line by doing the same... and lying about it, too! The rapper, who is a household name both in showbiz and in the fashion industry is now being accused of lying and selling real fur as fake one. The Humane Society of the United States is claiming that Macy's is selling now a $237.99 Sean John creation that is made with real fur, although the advertisement for it says otherwise. Reuters reports that the coat is said to be trimmed with an 'imitation of rabbit fur', while the label inside claims it to be 'real raccoon'. And the lying doesn't just stop here: the raccoon that died for the coat is not your average one, but a raccoon dog, a type of dog raised in China whose fur closely resembles that of a raccoon. The Humane Society immediately notified Federated Department Stores Inc., Macy's parent, and a spokesperson for the latter announced that an investigation will be launched to see if real fur was used or not in the case of Sean Combs' designs. Because the company's policy is that of refusing to sell items made of dog or cat fur, they told Reuters, until the investigation is finalized and the tests are back from the lab, they would remove all items from their stores and website. 'The information brought to our attention today by the Humane Society of the United States will be promptly investigated and appropriate action will be taken', the statement said. Meanwhile, the Society is urging Macy's to stop selling clothes trimmed with fur altogether.
