Last week, Marvel announced that Tom Hiddleston would reprise his role as Loki in 2017, when the third “Thor” movie, “Thor: Ragnarok,” comes out in theaters. The good news today is that we won’t have to wait that long to see our all-time favorite Marvel villain, because he will also be making a cameo in next year’s “Avengers: Age of Ultron.”

So far, there hasn’t been as much as a single peep on the possibility of a Loki cameo, but since this is coming straight from Idris Elba, who plays Heimdall in both “Thor” movies, it’s probably a safe bet to believe him.

He’s coming back, too, apparently. “I’m in ‘Avengers’,” he tells The Telegraph. “And I’m doing a scene with Chris Hemsworth and Tom Hiddleston, and they’re like, [whispers] – ‘Aren’t you [meant to be] in Ibiza?’”

So either Marvel was looking to keep these 2 cameos a secret for a while longer and Idris just spilled the beans on them, or he’s deliberately deceiving the fans. Considering that his role in “Thor” isn’t all that big, I’d say he has nothing to gain by lying and saying he’ll be in the “Avengers” film.

Moreover, if you think about it, Hiddleston’s cameo makes sense: last time we talked about his role and how much support he got from the fans for it, it had also been announced that “Ragnarok” would pick up right after the events in “Age of Ultron.”

If Loki is to appear in “Ultron” next year, his cameo will probably serve to link “Thor: The Dark World” with the upcoming “Ragnarok.” That’s still a big “if” right there, so don’t get your hopes high yet until Marvel confirms Elba’s big reveal.
