An Idaho man aspires to own every single VHS copy of the 1994 action thriller Speed ever made. So, he dedicates his spare time to collecting copies of the movie starring Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock.

It all started seven years ago, when Ryan Beitz didn’t have enough money to buy separate gifts for his family members, so he decided to purchase six copies of Speed from a pawnshop.

“I was super broke and I had to come up with Christmas presents for my family. I was at the pawn shop, they had six copies of Speed and I thought it would be really funny to get everybody in my family the same gift. Then I could tell them that I love them all equally, you know?” he told Vice magazine in an interview.

To reach his ambitious goal, the 26-year-old man has set up a website called “The World Speed Project,” and a Facebook page, through which he asks people to send him their VHS copies.

Although his ambition may seem a bit weird, and useless I dare say, people appear to be willing to help him, as he already has more than 500 copies of the film and has received VHS tapes from all over the world.

Now, he has also started a Kickstarter project to have his van fixed up and painted like the bus from the movie Speed.
