14 DAY TRIAL // HDD docks really do come in all forms, as Icy Dock has just affirmed. The company has formally introduced an adapter that turns any 3.5-inch bay into two 2.5-inch trays.
The product is called Icy Dock EZ-Fit Lite MB290SP-B and has a “durable, one-piece design.”
That means that you don't have two-piece Brackets to screw in on both sides of the desktop case drive cage.
In fact, the adapter has some other advantages as well, like a quick release eject mechanism, an anti-vibration design, universally made screw placement (60 screw holes) and compatibility with both 7mm and 9.5mm-thick drives.
Icy Dock expects the new product to be used in all sorts of PCs, from gaming desktops to HTPCs (Home Theater Personal Computers) and Mini-IPX systems. Sadly, the price will have to wait.
