One more Yahoo server for Iceland

The giant portal Yahoo is now planning to build a new server in Iceland that will help the company expand its services in the area. Although the decision was not officially confirmed, Yahoo wants to open a new office and start the operation in about three years. According to Iceland Review, Yahoo encounters a single problem: a new server requires a lot of energy that is currently one of the main concerns for Iceland. However, the Prime Minister Geir H. Haarde sustained that "this is a very exciting idea and it is positive that Iceland is shown such interest. Yahoo's representatives have found out that there is a friendly environment for such operations here," as the publication reported.

"Iceland is known to be environmentally friendly and to offer inexpensive energy. We are very satisfied with what we have seen and Icelandic investors are interested in the idea," Kevin Timmons, the vice-president of Yahoo, added.

Some time ago, the giant portal started a powerful expansion campaign that was meant to help Yahoo conquer the Chinese market. Together with its Mountain View rival, Yahoo was quickly rejected by the local companies and even the users that were still attracted by the country's giant, Baidu. As you might know, Yahoo China suffered several departures, the President of the regional office leaving the company to lead his own firm. Finally, Yahoo announced an internal reorganization to bring some new prospects for the future able to revamp the company and make it more competitive for the rival.

As this time Yahoo was quite reticent, the only company that tried to conquer China was the famous Google. However, it looks like Yahoo wants more efficiency from its products and wants to conquer Iceland using a new server.
