The rapper and actor Ice T finished recording for his first studio album in seven years and he had very high hopes for it. Unfortunately, he is experiencing many problems with it and not because of the content of the tracks included on it. Stores refuse to stock it for a much more common thing: because of its cover.
'Gangsta Rap' shows Ice T and his stripper wife Coco, both naked and lying on a master bed. The rapper is positioned face up, while Coco rests her head on his shoulder and coyly covering with her leg her husband's private parts.
Spokespersons from all the major music stores all across the US said that they are not willing to stock the material until the cover is censored accordingly, because Coco's butt is in full view and they couldn't possibly sell the album like this.

After news got out that 'Gangsta Rap' wouldn't sell, PageSix contacted the rapper to see what was his response for the retailers and for the record company, Melee Recordings. Apparently, he is not at all put down by the cold shoulder he was given, it's not like he hasn't done that before (both with Coco and without her).
'What can I say, I have been doing these kinds of things for years', the rapper calmly stated and then added, as a joke: 'You should see the picture when Coco's leg is
not there!'. But Melee has the perfect solution, so that the long expected album can drop in all stores on the scheduled date, on Halloween: 'We're getting lots of flack about it. What we're going to have to do is place stickers over parts of the photo to avoid any problems'.
