Samsung might start rolling out the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system on Galaxy Nexus as soon as March 1st, some of the latest reports on the matter suggest.

Apparently, all will depend on the country and on the carrier that has the Galaxy S II on its airwaves, but the update is near. The news comes from Eldar Murtazin, who says that the update will be available both via Kies and over the air.

Nothing has been officially confirmed on this for the time being, and we’ll take the info with a grain of salt. However, we’ll keep an eye out to learn more on the matter.

Samsung was the first company to bring to the market a handset running under Ice Cream Sandwich, and many expected it to start delivering the update to more devices sooner.

With HTC announcing ICS for Sensation smartphones for the next month, we might indeed see Samsung delivering updates at the end of this month.
