Although numerous handset manufacturers already confirmed plans to deploy Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich to their top tier smartphones, few carriers disclosed any details on the upgrade, but more info will probably leak next year.

One such leak confirms that at least one Canadian carrier, Bell plans to roll out the Ice Cream Sandwich update to some of the most popular Android smartphones in its portfolio.

The folks over at MobileSyrup got their hands on an internal document that gives us a pretty good idea on the “estimated release” date for the Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade at Bell Canada.

If things prove to be true then the first smartphone to get the Android 4.0 upgrade will be the HTC Sensation, which is slated to receive the update in February 2012.

The next on the list is the HTC Raider, which is pegged for a March 2012 upgrade, while the last on the list is the Samsung Galaxy S II that should be on track for the Ice Cream Sandwich update in April 2012.

There’s one more smartphone mentioned in this document, the LG Optimus LTE, but this one’s upgrade release date has yet to be determined by the Korean handset manufacturer.

Currently, Bell Canada and Virgin Mobile are selling the only Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich smartphone available in the market, the Samsung Galaxy Nexus.

However, beginning next year, the Galaxy Nexus is certain to go live at Rogers, and probably at more Canadian regional carrier that want a piece of the pie.

Even though it’s a bit too early to talk about an Ice Cream Sandwich upgrade roadmap with certainty, we can safely assume that carriers will want to offer their customers the update as soon as possible.

Hopefully, these estimated Android 4.0 release dates for Bell’s smartphones won’t change too much until next year.
