Yesterday, Internet giant Google announced the release of a new flavor of their mobile operating system, namely Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, and the company also unveiled some info on when the platform should be released.

Google also announced that they are working on bringing the Ice Cream Sandwich OS to the Nexus S smartphone, and that this should happen in the next several weeks.

Moreover, they confirmed that the source code for the platform is expected to become available within weeks after GALAXY Nexus, the first handset to pack the new OS flavor, hits the shelves.

In addition to making the platform available for developers, Google will also work with its partner to push it out on more devices. Apparently, Samsung, which already launched an Ice Cream Sandwich device, might be the first to deliver software updates to its customers.
