In one of his latest tweets, Ian Somerhalder posted a link to this year's Rescue Dog Agility competition and told fans, “See what can happen with second chances? Please support our hopes of giving second chances to countless furry friends!”

As one of the world's most committed animal rights defenders, Ian regularly draws attention to how important it is to look after our pets and strives to raise ever more funds for his animal sanctuary.

Watching the video, one cannot help but agree with him: these furry four-legged creatures are indeed quite impressive to look at as they tackle the obstacle course in a very playful, jolly manner.

We can only hope that Somerhalder will keep up the good work when it comes to pet rescuing, and that his being so famous will determine other people to follow in his footsteps.

You have the video sent by Ian to his Twitter followers down below.
