This coming Monday, Hollywood sweetheart Ian Somerhalder wants fans and conservationists to join him in attending a council meeting which supposedly will decide the future of the animal sanctuary this celebrity is trying to see become a reality.

For those unaware, Ian Somerhalder is planning to buy a rather large portion of land and turn it into a sustainable farm, where various animals can enjoy a comfortable life. However, it seems that the very same plot of land this celebrity set his eyes on is on the verge of becoming a transfer station and business park.

Naturally, news of this being so didn't sit very well with Ian Somerhalder, who tweeted as follows: “Twitterverse! I need you help its about saving the ISF sanctuary! Pls read this article: I need residents of Lacombe LA&st Tammany parrish (cont) To stand with me on Monday Sep10th at council meeting to stop this Industrial Park! Come join me – as many as possible!”

For those of you who are not yet all that familiar with Twitter talk, what the celebrity wants is that people concerned about animals come meet him at the St. Tammany Parish Council on the 10th of September, in order to offer their support to the celebrity's plea that said land becomes an animal sanctuary and not an industrial park.

As Ecorazzi reports, this is not the first time when Ian Somerhalder attempts to buy this area and turn it into an animal refuge. However, when the opportunity first presented itself at the beginning of this year, his foundation simply did not have enough money to make the purchase.

Hopefully, things will turn out better this time, and the other man who intends to buy this land – Chris Jean – will give due consideration to whatever proposal Ian Somerhalder puts forth.
