With so many influential people backing up Greenpeace's 'Save the Arctic' campaign, it comes as no surprise that other celebrities are now turning their attention towards other pressing issues involving biodiversity conservation.

Thus, just a couple of days ago, Ian Somerhalder – accomplished actor made famous by “The Vampire Diaries” series – tweeted to show his support for the efforts currently made to implement stricter environmental projects primarily aimed at ending elephant, tiger and rhino poaching.

His message, “YES! It should be! RT @actionforplanet: Elephant ivory and rhino horn on the agenda at United Nations-backed meeting,” drew significant media attention, as was to be expected.

Hopefully, this will help raise more awareness with respect to the need to protect these endangered species.

You can read more about the conference Ian Somerhalder speaks about in his tweet here.
