The Clear Creek Independent School District (CCISD) in Texas has already embraced Windows 8 and even though some criticize the new OS for the confusion it creates to beginners, local IT experts actually praise the product.

CCISD CTO Kevin Schwartz said in an interview that early signs have showed that Windows 8 is actually received very well by students and professors, as most of them discovered the benefits of the operating system in a very short time.

While the district wants to install Windows 8 on 30,000 devices, Schwartz revealed that the Start Screen, the live tiles and the Metro UI altogether do not represent “such a big barrier.”

He does admit that it’s sometimes “a little harder to adapt to” Windows 8, but eventually everybody should be able to use it.

Windows 8 is currently the fifth most popular operating system in the world, according to figures provided by StatCounter, still behind Windows 7, XP, Mac OS X, and Vista.
