At 8:16 am EDT (1216 GMT) today, August 30, two astronauts from the International Space Station (ISS) stepped out of the Quest Joint Airlock, beginning the second extra-vehicular activity (EVA) of Expedition 32.

The spacewalk is performed by NASA astronauts Sunita Williams and Japanese Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) colleague Akihiko Hoshide. During their sortie, they will have a wide variety of tasks to tackle, NASA reports.

These include placing a thermal blanket on a docking port, replacing a robotic arm camera that is beginning to fail, replacing a faulty power relay on the ISS' main truss, and routing cables needed to support the arrival of a new, Russian-built ISS module, next year.

The EVA is currently live on NASA TV, and is scheduled to continue until around 14:45 EDT (1845 GMT), at least. Tune in!
