IMDb iPhone App Updated with Trailer Notifications

IMDb Movies & TV, the dedicated iPhone and iPad app that lets you find showtimes, watch trailers, browse photos, track your must-see list and rate your favorite movies and TV shows, has been updated to version 2.4.

As if the app itself wasn’t already great, the folks at the Internet Movie Database are throwing in a bunch of exciting new features.

Those include the ability to get notifications for entertainment news, new trailers, and theater showtimes (iOS 5 only), create an IMDb account directly from the app, and the ability to tap directly to people pages from within the photo browser. You get improved photo captions, and Watchlist and History buttons on the home screen for quick access.

DVD and Blu-ray releases return to the app, and Amazon search links are again supported from movie and TV detail pages. The developers have made improvements to photos and text readability on news pages, and Facebook sharing should work better now.
