IM+ remains one of the most popular instant messaging apps on Windows 8, so a major update of the program should be quite good news for many of you.

The Pro version has been improved with group chats and support for file transfers, which means that users can now send files to their contacts without leaving the Metro UI at all.

In addition, the update packs Portuguese localization, a customizable push session and notification box support, according to the official release notes published in the Store.

While there’s no word on whether these improvements will be introduced in the free version as well, the app continues to be offered with a fee of $4.99 (€3.85), which is actually a small price to pay given the rich feature package of the app.
