IL-2 Sturmovik Flight Sim Gets Battle of Stalingrad Expansion
Players will be able to fly over the city and help either side
Developer 777 Studios and publisher 1C Company announce that they are working on a sequel to their IL-2 Sturmovik flight simulation title called Battle of Stalingrad, designed to once again take player to the skies of Russia during World War II.The game will take place between 1942 and 1943 and will allow gamers to fly missions during the city where one of the most important battles of the war took place, ending with the encirclement and the defeat of the Nazi Sixth Army.
Nikolay Baryshnikov, a vice president at 1C Company, is quoted by VG247 as stating, “1C is proud to take the next step in flight-simulation history with 777 Studios, a company and team that has grown to be one of the best flight-simulation developers in the world and has proven that their attention to detail and product quality speaks volumes about their talent and dedication.”
IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad offers both a single-player campaign and multiplayer scenarios, with the launch coming in 2014.
