We expected the Galaxy Note II at Samsung's pre-IFA launch event, and we also expected a Windows RT tablet, but not the brand that Samsung launched.

In what may or may not be a move meant to distance Samsung's products from the legal mess started by the Galaxy lineup, the10.1-inch Windows RT on ARM tablet is called Ativ Tab.

Samsung's didn't specify the name of the processor, but it did say it was a 1.5 GHz dual-core.

The company also disclosed the existence of a 5 MP autofocus camera, Wi-Fi and NFC.

Furthermore, ASUS promised that Microsoft Office would be pre-loaded on it. This is important because the software suite may not be available when Windows 8/RT itself launches.

Samsung says Office is "pre-loaded" without actually being there from the start because, when it does become available, it will be delivered free of charge to owners of the Ativ Tab as soon as possible over the internet.
