It has a sliding mechanism that lets the display fall flat or sit up

Toshiba is installing Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 operating system on ultrabooks, normal notebooks and tablets, but the device we are bringing you is a bit of each.

The Satellite U920T should not be confused with the Satellite U925T.

That isn't to say that the devices have nothing in common though. In fact, the U920T is a bigger sibling, of sorts, to the U925T.

Measuring 14 inches, it has a Gorilla Glass panel over the LCD, so that damage may not be inflicted on it unless people put genuine efforts into it, or have a really unlucky accident.

The CPU will belong to Intel's third-generation Core series (Ivy Bridge) while the storage will involve both an HDD and a 32 GB SSD (for Intel Smart Response SSD caching).

The memory capacity will be of up to 6 GB, depending on how much money buyers are willing to pay for it.

Furthermore, the convertible tablet/ultrabook has not one, but two cameras, although they both are limited to just 1 megapixel.

On that note, there is one more disadvantage that we need to mention: the 14-inch LCD is HD (1366 x 768 pixels), not Full HD (1920 x 1080 pixels).

Hopefully, the price will be decent enough to offset these perceived shortcomings. It would be a shame for an appealing device like this to trip over its own feet because of something like that, especially when it covers all other bases.

What we mean is that all the I/O components are present: Ethernet, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, HDMI, USB 2.0 and 3.0, etc.

Sales of the Toshiba Satellite U920T are bound to begin in October, as soon as Microsoft gives the green light to its new OS. Until that time, check out the photos listed below, live from the show.
