10.1-inch device features the Android OS and a 1 GHz CPU

In a world where the aesthetic similarities among tablets are spawning lawsuits on top of lawsuits, PocketBook seems to have done something a bit different, even if not overly so.

Those that have been keeping tabs on what has been happening at this year's edition of the IFA trade show may be aware of the fact that Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 has been pulled from the exhibition.

This was only the latest episode in the ever-refreshed series of lawsuits that have plagued the IT industry ever since the patent system was invented.

PocketBook is a company that might get around to marketing its own tablet without having to suffer from this sort of legal problems.

Simply put, the device it created was, apparently, specifically designed in a way that makes it look less identical to everything else out there right now.

The case was inspired form an airplane wing, apparently, and a row of physical buttons is on the bottom of the bezel.

The color on the frame is white and, though the product won't win any awards for thinness, it still has that unique flavor.

Unfortunately, the hardware inside of it, as well as the software, aren't as impressive, though the price of under 300 Euro (availability is set for October, 2011) should offset this issue.

The OMAP 3621 processor, with a clock of 1 GHz, is at the heart of it all, paired with 4 GB of storage space and WiFi support. There is the option of 3G connectivity as well.

Finally, the operating system is Android 2.3, otherwise known as Gingerbread, a step back from the honeycomb (Android 3.0, 3.1 or 3.2) that consumers might have grown used to hearing about.

PocketBook made a point of mentioning the fact that the A10 possessed text-to-speech capabilities and a weight of 670 grams.
