14 DAY TRIAL // South Korean mobile phone maker LG Electronics came to the IFA 2011 show in Berlin too, and brought along some of its latest Android-based mobile phones, including the LG Optimus Sol and Optimus Net, both of which fell into the hands of Softpedia's editors who are on the floor at the conference.
These are not top of the line handsets, but they still include a series of appealing capabilities and features, while running under Google's Android 2.3 Gingerbread operating system.
The LG Optimus Sol features a 3.8-inch touchscreen display that can deliver a WVGA (480 x 800 pixel) resolution, and packs a 1GHz application processor inside.
The smartphone features a 5-megapixel photo snapper with video recording capabilities and a front-facing camera for video calling, as well as 512MB of RAM, and a microSD memory card slot with support for up to 32GB of additional storage space.
The specifications list of this device also includes microUSB port, along with Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity, WiFi Direct, DLNA, and the usual set of sensors, along with built-in GPS receiver.
The handset measures 122.5 x 62.5 x 9.8 mm and packs a standard Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery, along with support for Internet browsing and for downloading and installing applications via the Android Market.
The LG Optimus Net, which was unveiled to the world in July 2011, sports a 3.2 inch touchscreen display that can boast a 320 x 480 pixels resolution, and is powered by an 800 MHz application processor paired with 512MB of RAM.
The handset also sports 150 MB of internal memory, and enables users to add up to 32GB of additional storage space into the mix, via microSD memory card slot.
The phone's specs list also includes a 3.15-megapixel photo snapper, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth, GPS receiver, access to social networking sites, Internet browsing, and a Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery to power them all. It measures 113.5 x 59 x 12.1 mm and weighs in at 122 grams.
