Those that read about LG's new TV and would have liked to get a better idea of what they can actually do with it now have that wish fulfilled, as we managed to shoot a video of the PenTouch technology in action.

Since the IFA trade show is underway in Berlin, Germany, there are many companies there, showing off various devices.

LG, naturally, did not miss the occasion, having set up an entire exhibition, varied and significant in size.

One of the things that have and is bound to keep standing out from the fold is a certain plasma TV line that has special features for operating as a monitor.

PenTouch is the name given to the product series, this moniker being owed to the fairly unique capabilities that the item gains when connected to a PC.

While the product can easily do everything a TV is meant for, in its full 50-inch or 60-inch glory (depending on model), its real asset is the touch support.

Displays with touch input were created before, but this one has the ability to keep track of a stylus, allowing handwriting (annotations, drawing and the like).

We aren't going to start listing the hardware details of the two form factors (50 inches and 60 inches in diagonal, with or without 3D), as this was well enough accomplished here.

Right now, users might be more interested in a nice look at the PenTouch technology in action, so our colleagues over in Berlin snapped a few photos and even shot a video.

Ultimately, it will fall to prospective customers to decide whether the prices of $1,099 to $2,199 are worthwhile investments. No doubt professionals (graphics designers and the like) will have the most cause to consider purchasing them.

Those who want to check out what else came forth during IFA can turn their gaze upon such things as Samsung's Series 7 Chronos Laptop, Acer's Aspire Ultrabook S3 and Toshiba's own Ultrabook (Portege Z830), among other things.
