Sony has made history in the music world, being the first to introduce the concept of portable music players, through its trademark Walkman. Over the years, this concept has evolved, materializing in high-end media players that offer attractive designs and outstanding sound quality to their users.

Like always, Sony wanted to bring people audio and video content at its best; the only difference this time is that it did so while "splashing" its new Walkman line with vivid and playful colors, which is the first thing you'll notice about these players.

The new S series Walkman Video MP3 player is the slimmest Walkman ever, at 7.5mm, sporting a high-contrast 2-inch QVGA LCD, which guarantees a crystal-clear view of your digital media collection. Thanks to the screen's quick time response, 30fps playback and selectable horizontal/vertical viewing, you'll be able to watch videos of perfect quality.

You can personalize the new interface to your liking, by choosing from ten pre-installed wallpaper images, or even from your favorite digital photos. Moreover – a first for a Walkman – all podcasts are now grouped together under a single icon on the home menu, for quick access.

The S series offers support for a wide range of audio and video codecs, these players also being compatible with WMV and DRM, thus allowing you to enjoy rights-protected movies and video clips from other media collections.

But what's really special about the Walkman S series is the fact that it is the first MP3 player that has the ability to match your listening to your mood or the moment. Unique SensMe Channels analyze your music collection, based on Sony's "12 Tone Analysis" technology and LCMIR (Low-Complexity Music Information Retrieval) technology, making suggestions about the playlist, while taking into consideration each song's speed, mood and rhythm. This means that you will no longer have to sort your music library, because the S series Walkman will do it for you.

Praised by its producers as the best-sounding Walkman ever, the new S series device sports four Sony-developed Clear Audio Technologies, complemented by 13.5mm EX headphones. Plus, it features a new 3-way noise canceling system that will shout out background distractions while commuting, flying or in crowded, noisy places.

The slim E series Walkman video MP3 player comes in four chic color finishes, with a 2-inch QVGA LCD screen and a simple file management system, complemented by a user-friendly interface and ultra-long battery life, all these in a superb package that will bestow class and style on every user.

Like all other Walkman models, the B series also offers support for a wide variety of popular formats, which means that you are free to buy, copy and manage your music wherever and however you want. One of its key points, its stylish design, is enhanced by an illuminator that pulses in time with the music when the new Bass button is pressed. Moreover, the B series features an FM radio and a voice recorder.

The new Walkman S series, E series and B series will be available in stores from October and to pre-order online from Sony Style from September. But patience is a virtue, isn't it?
