IEI, a company dedicated to developing industrial computing for factory automation, computer telephony integration, networking and other similar applications, has just announced the launch of the AFOLUX GENII 12.1-inch flat-bezel panel PC powered by an Intel Atom processor.

More specifically, the panel PC uses the Atom D525 CPU which includes dual computing cores, with support for Intel's HyperThreading technology, clocked at 1.8GHz.

This is paired with an ICH8M series system controller hub (SCH) and supports 800MHz DDR3 system memory.

IEI offers its customers the option of pairing the Atom D525 chip with as much as 4GB of such memory, and a 2.5-inch hard drive unit, while 802.11 b/g/n 2T2R and Bluetooth connectivity comes as standard.

Furthermore, buyers can configure the IEI panel PC with an EM or Mifare RFID reader, an 1.3 megapixel webcam with AF, AE and AWB capabilities, and the Panel PC also includes IEI's One Key Recovery software.

This application allows the user to create a full system backup or restore to a previously made backup image with a single click.

The 12.1-inch multi-touch capacitive screen features a special anti-glare finish to make it legible in direct sunlight and has a native resolution of 1024x768 pixels.

Other feature include a pair of Ethernet ports, four USB 2.0 connectors and one mini-USB port, an SD card reader, a VGA video output, an RS-232 port, as well as a pair of built-in 2.1W speakers.

Furthermore, the projective capacitive screen has a protective anti-scratch glass surface so the AFL2-12A-D525 functions even if the screen is damaged or broken.

IEI hasn't provided us with any information regarding the pricing of the AFOLUX GENII 12.1-inch flat-bezel panel PC, but this is already listed on the company's website and should be available for ordering.
