One of the most expected features that Windows Phone 7 should receive during the ongoing year would be the Internet Explorer 9 (IE9) browser, and a new video preview of the application is available for your viewing pleasure.

The mobile browser is expected to become available for Windows Phone 7 devices when the much discussed Mango software update arrives, something that should happen in the fourth quarter of the ongoing year, rumor has it.

Moreover, there have been reports regarding the possible landing of the IE9 browser on Windows Phone 7 before that, though nothing was officially confirmed on this for the time being.

In case it would arrive in Mango, the IE9 browser would be accompanied by a series of other enhancements, including Twitter integration in the People hub, fast app switching, and more.

Until more specific info on the release date of this software update would emerge, we should have a look at the said IE9 mobile browser, which can be seen in the video embedded at the bottom of this article, courtesy of The Next Web.

Reportedly, the video was recorded at the Windows Phone stand during SXSW, and shows some of the new features that the application would be set to arrive on handsets with, as well as some of the design changes that Microsoft has in store for IE9 for Windows Phone.

What can be seen in the video below includes the fact that the upcoming mobile browser would arrive with the address bar placed at the bottom, something that none of the other smartphone browsers features, as Pocketnow notes in a recent article.

Moreover, the mobile application should be released with HTML5 support, which should enhance the rendering performance of Windows Phone 7 devices.

IE9 was already released for desktop PCs in a final form, which might suggest that the mobile flavor could be near as well. Microsoft did commit to make it available during the ongoing year, but it remains to be seen when exactly that would happen, so keep an eye on this space for more.
