Microsoft has updated the content on the Windows Summit hub to reflect the recent release of Internet Explorer 9. In this regard, the Windows Summit is no longer about Windows 7 and IE8, but it’s now focused on the successor of Windows Vista as well as on IE9 RTW.

IE9 was released to web on March 15th, 2011 and is available for download for customers running Windows 7 and Windows Vista SP2.

As is the case with the content already on the site, the newly added sessions are designed to help hardware and software developers built projects tailored to Windows 7 and Internet Explorer 9.

“Hear firsthand from Corporate VP for Internet Explorer Dean Hachamovitch on how Internet Explorer 9’s Beta feedback contributed to the Internet Explorer 9’s many improvements in the final release,” revealed Microsoft’s Stephen L Rose.

“You can also find out about all of the new features in the three separate feature update videos. These videos cover everything from Internet Explorer 9’s performance improvements, to supporting the same markup changes in Internet Explorer 9, to Internet Explorer 9’s site-centric design that gives you maximum real estate for your websites.”

There are four new sessions recently added to Windows Summit, an introduction to IE9, as well as a few focused on the browser’s features.

At the same time, there is also a collection of content designed to make it easier for developers to leverage IE9’s Touch UI, hardware acceleration capabilities, SVG and Canvas support, Pinned Sites, etc.

“For those not familiar, the Windows Summit is designed for people who engineer and test Windows PCs, devices, and software or who want to build solutions with Internet Explorer 9,” Rose added.

“In addition, the Windows Summit provides an introduction to Windows programs and requirements, core scenarios, and key best practices.”
