Internet Explorer 9 users are in for quite a few surprises this holiday season, and they need to make their way to the BeautyOfTheWeb website in order to get a few examples of what Microsoft has in store for them.

To summarize, Christmas came early for customers running IE9, with the Redmond company teaming up with a number of sites in order to gift free “stuff.”

Those already familiar with the BeautyOfTheWeb site will notice that the software giant has done a bit of a redesign.

A beautiful, holiday inspired animation has been introduced, and it managed to do a wonderful job to work not only in IE9, but also in all browsers that support modern web standards, HTML5 included.

A total of 10 site partners are offering giveaways, but only to those users running Internet Explorer 9.

“Happy Holidays from Internet Explorer 9. To show you our love this season, we got you a whole lotta free music, movies and other awesome stuff. Unwrap and enjoy your holiday gifts!” reads a message posted on the site.

In order to get the actual prizes, customers will need to not only be using IE9, but to also make their way to the sites offering free stuff and pinning them on the Taskbar in Windows 7. Site pinning is an amazing feature of IE9, I for one could not live without it.

Users have to select the IE9 Tab in which the site is opened, and click and drag it to the Taskbar, where it can be dropped and pinned, just as an app. Those confused about the mechanism can check out the video embedded below.

Here are some of the free stuff available to IE9 users: three free months of Slacker Premium Radio, one free movie from Flixter, one free month of Vimeo, three free months of Aol Radio, One free $5 movie ticket from Fandango, 20 free horseshoes from Zynga in “The Pioneer Trail,” one free month of Grooveshark Plus, $5 off your next Live Nation ticket from Ticketmaster, one free month of Pandora One, one free month of Hulu Plus.
