IE8 RTW New Wave of Downloads Available

18 additional languages

Over a month since the initial availability of Internet Explorer 8 RTW, Microsoft has made available for download a fresh wave of releases. The Redmond company gave the green light to IE8 RTW downloads on March 19, 2009, but the delivery of the gold version of Internet Explorer 7's successor was far from over. While IE8 was available initially in no less than 25 localized versions, the software giant is looking to better tailor the browser to markets worldwide. In this regard, 18 new language versions of Internet Explorer 8 have been Released to Web at the end of the past week.

“We are pleased to announce the availability of Internet Explorer 8 in 18 additional languages. Internet Explorer 8 is now available in a total of 43 languages,” revealed Vishwac Sena Kannan, International Program Manager | Internet Explorers. IE8 RTW can now be grabbed in Bulgarian, Bosnian (Cyrillic), Bosnian (Latin), Catalan, Croatian, Estonian, Hindi, Latvian, Lithuanian, Macedonian, Romanian, Serbian (Cyrillic), Serbian (Latin), Slovakian, Slovenian, Thai, Ukrainian, and Vietnamese.

Just as it was the case with the first wave of IE8 RTW variants, the latest versions are exclusively available for Windows 7's precursors, namely Windows Vista (including Service Pack 1), Windows XP (including SP3), Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008. Back in March, IE8 was delivered in the following languages: Arabic, Chinese (Traditional, Simplified and Hong Kong), Czech, Danish, Dutch, English, Finnish, French, German, Greek, Hebrew, Hungarian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Norwegian, Portuguese (Brazil and Portugal), Polish, Russian, Spanish, Swedish and Turkish.

But at the same time there is more to come for IE8. Microsoft plans to offer yet another wave of Internet Explorer 8 localized versions, no less than 20 additional releases. “List of upcoming localized Internet Explorer 8 languages: Albanian, Assamese, Basque, Bengali (Bangladesh), Bengali (India), Gujarati, Indonesian, Kannada, Kazakh, Konkani, Kyrgyz, Malay (Brunei Darussalam), Malay (Malaysia), Malayalam, Marathi, Oriya, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu and Uzbek (Latin).

Internet Explorer 8 (IE8) RTW is available for download here (for 32-bit and 64-bit flavors of Windows XP, Windows Vista, Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008).
