IE11 is now available for both Windows 8.1 and Windows 7 users but, sometimes, the browser is actually causing more harm than good.

Microsoft has recently confirmed that, in some cases, CRM Online configurations do not work in Internet Explorer 11, so users are recommended to either use compatibility view or switch to an older version of Microsoft’s browser.

“We are hearing from the support team that they are receiving escalations from administrators using IE 11 not being able to do the initial configuration of their CRM Online organizations,” Microsoft engineer Daria Barteneva said in a short post.

She also shared a very simple workaround for users affected by the compatibility issue, explaining that turning to the built-in compatibility view or installing IE10 or an even older build could do the trick.

“The workaround is: log in to MOP from a machine with an older IE version (IE10 for example) and rerun the configuration from there OR use compatibility view,” she pointed out.
