We reported yesterday that Galaxy Tab 2 310 was available for pre-order in India via Samsung’s online store, though we didn’t expect to see the tablet launching so early.

The folks over at AndroidOS have just reported that the slate has been officially introduced in India and has been priced at Rs 23,250 (450 USD or 355 EUR).

Moreover, Samsung and Tata Docomo have teamed up to offer customers who purchase the Galaxy Tab 2 310 no less than 3GB data download for free over a 3-month period.

Those who are not familiar with the Indian market should know that Samsung usually changes the name of its tablets. In this case, the Galaxy Tab 2 310 is globally known as Galaxy Tab 2 (7.0).

Unveiled back in February at the Mobile World Congress 2012 in Barcelona, the Galaxy Tab 2 310 comes packed with all the goodies offered by Google’s latest Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich platform.

Furthermore, the slate offers a wide range of connectivity options, including HSDA (21Mbps) and HSUPA (5.76Mbps) support, Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi Direct, along with Bluetooth 3.0 with AD2P and HS.

Hardware-wise, Galaxy Tab 2 310 is equipped with a powerful 1 Ghz dual-core processor, a PowerVR SGX540 GPU and 1GB of RAM. The tablet packs 16GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card.

Samsung launched only the 3G version of the Galaxy Tab 310 2, possibly due to the fact that Wi-Fi hotspots in India are pretty rare.

Tablets are increasingly finding adoption amongst consumers because of their richer more converged experience. Users are able to surf the internet, enjoy multi-media and manage their work and life while being on the move. The new GALAXY Tab 2 310, with its powerful processor, Android 4.0 and its seven inch screen, make it extremely powerful and convenient device to carry”, said Mr. Ranjit Yadav, country head, Mobile and IT, Samsung India.
