Acer has been present on the Android smartphone market with only a handful of devices, which have yet to make their debut worldwide.

We reported a few days ago that the company planned to introduce the Acer CloudMobile smartphone in the UK, but the handset won’t be available until early September.

Customers who don’t bother waiting for the CloudMobile can pre-order the smartphone for 290 GBP (455 USD or 370 EUR) outright.

However, this won’t be the last Android smartphone launched by Acer this year, as the company has just introduced the Liquid Glow handset in the UK.

The smartphone is currently up for grabs via Expansys for only 148 GBP (230 USD or 190 EUR) outright. Check it out here.

The UK-based retailer also throws in free shipping, so customers should expect to receive their devices within 3-5 business days.

Still, those who wish to receive their Acer Liquid Glow devices faster will have to come up with 7 GBP for express delivery.

Acer Liquid Glow is a worthy alternative to high-end devices that don’t come so cheap. The smartphone is powered by Google’s Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system and packs a 1 GHz single-core processor inside.

There are only 512MB of RAM and 1GB of internal memory, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD memory card.

The Acer Liquid Glow comes with an unusual 3.7-inch capacitive touchscreen display that supports 480 x 800 pixels resolution and 16 million colors.

On the back, the smartphone sports a 5-megapixel photo snapper with autofocus, LED flash and video recording, though we’re not sure if the Liquid Glow also comes with a secondary front-facing camera for video calls.

It is also worth mentioning that Acer Liquid Glow supports both HSDPA and HSUPA, along with Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS connectivity.
