"I'll never allow a gay player to be part of our national team, during the World Cup in Germany". It seems that this is the main concern Brazilian technician Carlos Alberto Parreira has before the Germany WC kicks off.
Could it be that he's afraid of gay players flirting with him to earn
their place in the Brazil squad? Or could it be that he just wants his psychologists to have less to worry about before the tournament begins? We'll never know. What we do know, though, is that Parreira sees no chance of homosexuality and football coming together.
"Please, do not misunderstand. I have nothing against gay people at all. People's sexual orientation is no one's business but their own. But I don't think gay people can adapt in football, and it would be better for anyone for them to stay out of this game", said Parreira in an interview for "IstoE" magazine.
As for his players having sex during the World Cup is concerned, Parreira added: "We live in the XXI Century. How can I forbid my players to have sex? Of course, if they have sex in the morning, and in the same night we have a game to play, that is a problem. But, other than that, my players are free to do whatever they like".
