Mobile games developer and publisher I-play announced the launch of its fourth title based on The Fast and The Furious movie franchise. Released in 2004, the racing game series has enjoyed great popularity and has been downloaded more than seven million times
since launch.

Published by I-play via a licensing agreement with Universal Mobile Entertainment, The Fast and The Furious: Fugitive is based on The Fast and The Furious DVDs and tells the story that takes place between the first two movies. The game follows the escape of Brian O'Conner from L.A. to Miami, and puts the player in the shoes of a cop on the run, trying to get back his police badge and clear his name. To do this, players must compete against the top street racers in the country to bring down an international crime syndicate.

The Fast and The Furious: Fugitive consists of four chapters, each taking place in a different city. Gamers have to earn enough money to leave town and, in order to achieve this, they can choose to compete in street races for cash or to follow each city's storyline and complete missions. Missions can range from evading cops to escorting people across the city and eliminating rival cars. After earning enough money, players must survive a high-speed race, trying to escape from the cops, while avoiding traffic and roadblocks.

I-play has created two versions of the game: one featuring 2D graphics and a 3D edition for BREW handsets. "BREW customers have a treat in store with The Fast and The Furious: Fugitive 3D. This game has been developed by our internal team who continually raise the bar in terms of innovation, and have created a visually stunning 3D game," said David Gosen, CEO of I-play. "Some of the visual effects that add to the game's realism include the reflection of the clouds and buildings in the rear window and the pre-race cinematography that's pulled straight from the movies."
