Paris Hilton is, as the entire world must know by now, famous for her squeaky voice, blonde hair, blue contacts and a certain airheaded quality that often makes her utter the most absurd things. Still, she insists in her new documentary, “Paris, Not France,” and quoted by
E! Online, the real Paris Hilton is anything but this, since this is just a “character” she plays everyday for the media, part of her brand.
This is
not the first time that Paris speaks out on the “bimbo” comparisons that she often draws with her attitude and behavior. In the past, she put herself next to the likes of Princess Diana and Marilyn Monroe, for building for herself an image of iconic blonde. Sadly, said image has returned to bite her in the you-know-what and she is clearly not happy about it, because people seem to judge her only for it.
Miss Hilton is aware that everybody sees her as stupid and an easygoing woman for whom flings with men are a daily occurrence, to put it in milder terms. “In a way it’s good, but I also don’t want people thinking of me as this blond heiress… airhead. But that is kind of my brand. I make a lot of money by doing that.” Paris says in her recently premiered documentary that will air on MTV.
And, while she’s ok with being considered a simpleton, there are times when she would like people to see her for who she is: a businesswoman who is now looking to settle down and, perhaps, even move away from her image so far. “I always looked up to Princess Diana and all these women, and now I could never be like that. I want to have a family. I want to be normal. I want to be happy.” Hilton stresses, adding that she’s definitely not “stupid” or loose in terms of morals.
However, several US glossy magazines and celebrity blogs point out, the world can hardly take her seriously when it’s Paris herself who’s making it difficult to do so.
Just yesterday, for instance, she told the media at the premiere of the aforementioned documentary that Michael Jackson’s only daughter was named after her, as the singer loved her so much that she was like a niece to him. This, as anyone can understand, prompted countless jokes on the Internet on whether Paris Hilton also believed Paris, the capital of France, was also named after her.
